Felbrigg Lake Walk, Norfolk

After the beach and strawberry picking excitement we still had two hours to kill before Lucy got the train back to Norwich, we decided to go to Felbrigg as it was nearest and walk around the lake. It was still really, really hot and after we walked around the lake we went for an ice cream. In the toilets we saw how sunburnt we were. Then it started to hurt and itch like mad. I hate the sun sometimes.

As we walked around the lake we saw hundreds of teeny, tiny newborn frogs - they were literally about the same size as flies. We tried really hard not to step on them but I fear we may have become frog murderers.

I received a voucher through the post the other week from the National Trust for a free cream tea for two, so what better excuse for me and Ellen to visit Felbrigg hall? As you can see from the photos it was a gorgeous day, and yes I did get sunburnt. Typical.

Afternoon (11.50am) tea in the courtyard

We decided to cash in our voucher as soon as we arrived - even though it was a bit early for afternoon tea - and sat outside in the courtyard for a bit, since it was too nice to sit inside.  

As usual we were the youngest people there by about 50 years.

We then went to walk around the gardens for a bit because Ellen wanted to see if the vegetables she is growing were superior to the ones growing at Felbrigg. 

On the way we went past the donkeys who have been there for as along as I can remember. Apparently they can live to between 50-80 years! I do not think that is true. The national trust must be lying.
